Pedestal Sump Pumps
The motor sits above the pit on a pedestal, making it accessible for servicing without pit entry. Pedestal pumps are appropriate for smaller pits where a submersible does not fit, and they tend to be easier to inspect. Trade-off: louder operation, and the motor is exposed to basement air.
Battery Backup Systems
Storms here knock out power. A battery backup pump activates automatically when the primary pump fails or loses power, running on a 12-volt battery that provides hours of protection. We recommend backup systems for any basement where flooding would cause significant damage. A Wi-Fi-enabled backup can also send alerts to your phone when the primary pump fails.
Combination Primary + Backup Systems
The most comprehensive protection. A high-capacity primary submersible pump handles normal storm loads, while a dedicated backup pump on a battery takes over in outages or overload situations. We size both pumps to your pit volume and typical water inflow so neither is undersized when it matters.
